I purchased two complete sets for a tasting fare that was set up to sample menu items for a new restaurant project that I'm involved in. I loved the compartmentalized lower plate , perfect for seperating items for dipping, and the fact that the set was in a unique, square shape that matches the modern dinnerware that we plan to use. My bosses loved the look, and we got tremendous compliments for the beer cheese fondue appetizer and the flaming white turtle dessert that went in them. A huge win! I think the design is excellent, and the portability due to the tealight makes serving guests inside or outside a practicality. The only downside I would comment on about the set is the fact that the little color coded forks do not do the rest of the set justice. Everything else about it is elegant and can pass for upscale. The forks, however, no.

this product is a great product for your gatherings or parties. Very nice look to it . The only thing is that it's a bit small to hold alot of food on it so i had to add more food in a separate plate (was not planned to do so)

It's a really cute little display, but the stand for the main dipping bowl was not sturdy and was bent at an angle.
We used the tea light that was included in the package and the chocolate burned when in the the bowl.
Also, the heat from the candle caused the bowl to crack.
I really like the look, but was really disappointed that it cracked from the heat as you would expect that it was made for this purpose.

Hayneedle.com response:For optimum chocolate fondue results, we at Trudeau advise melting your chocolate in a separate saucepan before pouring it into your stoneware bowl. Then, stir the chocolate frequently to avoid burning, especially when there is less chocolate in the bowl.
Trudeau uses ceramic for some of our fondue pots because of its effective ability to maintain heat. Occasionally though, you may experience cracking in your stoneware ceramic bowl. Ceramic is made from natural clay and is protected with a glaze that may contain air bubbles. If heat, such as the flame from the tea light with this fondue set, is directly applied to an air bubble, the ceramic may weaken and crack. If this happens, please return the product to Trudeau and we'll be happy to exchange it for you.
